About this site
Who publishes Penis Envy Mushrooms, how the information is gathered and checked, and why the product links on this site go to Dutch-Smart.
Penis Envy Mushrooms is published by the team behind the Dutch smartshop Dutch-Smart. Dutch-Smart sells the grow bags shown on this site, and every product link goes to that shop. When you buy through such a link, we earn from the sale.
We say this first because it matters for how you read the rest. Most of what is online about Penis Envy is a retold origin story and a claim of extreme strength. We wanted one place that sets out what is measured, what is reported and what is simply repeated, including the parts that do not help sales: that the origin is undocumented, that the albino form measured weaker than the pigmented one, and that a grow bag is legal to buy in the Netherlands while the mushrooms are not.
How the information is gathered
- Measurements come from peer-reviewed studies, linked on every page where we use them. Where only one study exists, we say so.
- Effects, risks and Dutch law come from the Trimbos Institute, the Jellinek and official legal texts. Laws for the United Kingdom, Germany and the United States are checked against the statutes themselves.
- Shop descriptions are quoted as shop descriptions, with the date we read them.
- The origin story is presented as a story, with the correction its main source published in 2021.
- We make no medical or health claims of any kind, and we publish no invented reviews or experiences.
Every page shows when it was last checked. Laws, products and stock change. If something here is out of date or wrong, Dutch-Smart's customer service can pass it on to us.
Who is behind the shop
Dutch-Smart is a Dutch smartshop that has been around since 2011, based in Helmond. It ships from the Netherlands and sells only to adults. The products on this site are meant for adults in the Netherlands; see the law page for other countries.
